As my kids get older I've had to really think through how to spend quality time with them.
It's easy for me to sit with my daughter and make bracelets (hey Swifties) or hand letter with her.
It's a little tricker for my son because I'm not sure how to play dinosaurs or what to build with legos all the time. But on this particular day we turned rocks, lavender, and flowers into the most delicious rabbit stew.
He decided we were pioneers living in the "olden days".
But as I sat there, fresh air, no screens, I was truly reminded what it means to slow down.
For me it was a moment in my day to just relax and catch my breath. But for my son it was 1:1 time, creative juices flowed as we turned pieces of bark into plates, sticks into spoons, and just enjoyed being together. Reminding myself to slow down. Accept the opportunities to spend time with my kids while they still want to spend time with me.
